Utah Junior Pickleball Program announced at State Utah Recreation Parks Association Conference

On Wednesday, March 12, 2020 - The Utah Juniors Pickleball Committee announced at the Utah Recreation Parks Association (URPA) a State wide juniors pickleball initiative. This State wide initiative is to get youth in your area playing pickleball. These can be offered through Pickleball Camps, Skill Days, Youth Pickleball Clubs, Generation Gap Tournaments and Leagues.

Individual agencies are encouraged to develop youth players in the Spring and early Summer. Each region after allowing competitive experiences through camps and clinics will then host a regional tournament in their area. The state is naturally broken out into 4 regions - Northern, Wasatch, Central and Southern. Each Region will have a recreation representative as well as USAPA ambassadors to help.

Each Regional Tournament will be held in July. Gold and Silver medalists from each regional tournament from 2.0 - 4.0 skill division in boys, girls and mixed will be given a free registration to the Jr’s tournament division at the Tournament of Champions in Brigham City.

Brigham City is excited for this announcement and for the youth to be joining us for an experience and their chance to get scholarship money awarded to a school of their choosing post high-school.
